About Steph
My name is Steph Keenan. I work as a Psychotherapist and Supervisor and have a Post Graduate Diploma in Psychotherapy with a Private Practice based near Newcastle upon Tyne.
I set up A Healthy Awareness CIC in 2018 as I noticed there were gaps in private and public mental health services that prevented many people from accessing good quality therapy. We initially offered rapid access to low-cost psychotherapy, and this will continue for as long as there is a need. Healthy Awareness continues to be successful in providing many people with therapy they otherwise could not access.
We continue to provide individuals with the opportunity to access integrative psychological and emotional support services with an aim to improving mental health and reducing emotional, and often physical, suffering.
According to the World Health Organisation (WHO), anxiety and depression are the greatest health issues facing us worldwide. Even mild symptoms can seriously impair our enjoyment of life and sense of wellbeing.
Things don’t have to be terrible in order to seek help.
Simply being able to share whatever’s going on for you, with someone who can listen and support you can be hugely beneficial,
I also became aware that qualified counsellors and psychotherapists had difficulty accessing therapy for many reasons; and so, I decided to form the “Free Speech” Network, offering qualified professionals access to a network of qualified professionals.
My initial aim was to help as many people as possible; I became a therapist to help those adults who had traumatic childhood experiences, that were not recognised or resolved in childhood; I became a therapist to help adults understand, heal and move past their childhood traumas.
I am available online or in person in either Whitley Bay or Gosforth.
