Keeping Heads Warm
We Love knitting!
Between working with our clients and our supervisees, you may find us knitting.
This year we decided to knit woolly hats and donate them to a local homeless charity to distribute. We also knitted woolly hats and left them in clusters around the community for people to take as a gift.
Since our launch, we have knitted dozens of woolly hats and donated them to The People’s Kitchen in Newcastle.
One of our latest deliveries of hand-knitted hats was kindly accepted by the lovely Beryl who volunteers for The People’s Kitchen. Beryl promises to supply the Outreach Team with woolly hats in order to distribute to those in need of warmth.
We have also left clusters of hats around the area. Batches have been left between North Shields and Jesmond, and some north of the Tyne and some south.
Our last pre-Christmas cluster of hats was left in Jesmond Dene on Christmas Eve and they were all gone within minutes.
We plan to leave several more batches around the area before Spring to help keep heads warm.
Thank you to all who have previously donated and for those who have kindly agreed to donate monthly – every penny goes towards creating hats.
Could you help us with this? Each £10 donated potentially helps us keep 10 heads warm.
